Thank you for your interest. So, you are curious about me. Well, quite right too. It is important to assess the background and qualifications of any therapist that you consult with your problem. You also need to know how we work, there are so many therapeutic modalities, Cognitive and Behavioural, analytical, psychodynamic, humanistic and integrative to name a few. I work with the cognitive behaviour approach that can put you on the right path to psychological good health and I utilise clinical hypnotherapy both with CBT and alone. The therapy used would be dependent on the problem, horses for courses! I will explain to you exactly how this would work for you in a free introductory session so that you can decide if this approach is the one for you.
My background is in NHS nursing, midwifery and clinical audit (assessing the quality of patient care). I trained as a clinical hypnotherpist with the London College of Clinical Hypnosis, choosing this organisation because it is recognised by the NHS as a post-graduate training provider for doctors and dentists who want to incorporate hypnotherapy into their practice. Also, the training is approved by the RCN - the Royal College of Nursing. I hold Higher Education Diplomas in Hypnotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy from the LCCH accredited by Greenwich University and the RCN. I am also a HypnoBirthing Practitioner trained by the HypnoBirthing Institute. My qualifications are as follows:
Master of Arts from Leeds University
Registered General Nurse
Registered Midwife
Certificate in Hypnosis
HE Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy
Practitioner Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy
Primary Certificate REBT
Practitioner level NLP
Certified HypnoBirthing Practitioner
I am listed on the register of IBS therapists
I am a volunteer hypnotherapist for the National Phobics Society
I am also listed on the NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners
Affiliate Member Association Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy
I am a full member of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis, the governing body that controls the code of practice and ethics of its members, and have regular supervision from experienced therapists.
So, that's me. I look forward to meeting and helping you.
